PRINOTH Supplier to JWSC Narvik 2020

PRINOTH Supplier to JWSC Narvik 2020

A breathtaking sight lay at the feet of the young athletes: the Narvik Fjord with its harbour spread out picturesquely in the finish area of the race track. But until then it was a steep and nerve-racking path for them: The Junior Alpine Skiing World Championships are one of the largest and most important, if not actually the most important competitions in young athletes’ current sports careers. In Narvik, around 600 junior athletes competed for the trophy on the demanding downhill run from 5 to 11 March 2020.

But it was not only a tough time of preparation for the young athletes; behind the Narvik ski resort and the entire region lie exhausting months of work to ensure that athletes, guests and the world were offered a first-class competition in top conditions.

"It is important for Narvik and Northern Norway to return to the FIS plans. We knew that we could organise a good and spectacular championship," said managing director Erik Plener in Narvik. "That's why we chose PRINOTH for piste technology: we didn't want to experiment and we have had a good partnership with PRINOTH for years. In addition to the impeccable pistes, Plener combines with PRINOTH and its Norwegian partner Owren an excellent customer service. "If something should ever be required, we can rely on fast and competent help. PRINOTH and Owren have never disappointed us."

The idea of sustainability has always been a priority for Narvik and PRINOTH. For the World Youth Championships, an environmental checklist has also been drawn up for the event, which clearly shows that environmental orientation is an important factor in the selection of partners. In PRINOTH, Narvik has found the ideal supplier for a sustainable event and we can be curious to see whether the successful JWSC 2020 will perhaps be followed by a nomination for a World Cup.
