PRINOTH unveils "TROLL" Project code

The Challenging Project that brought PRINOTH to Antarctica

Granby, Qc (Oct 1st, 2019)—PRINOTH is extremely proud to unveil a vehicle unlike any other in the world designed to transport very large loads with less personnel and less impact on the environment, an internal project-code called “Troll”. Indeed, PRINOTH is the proud developer and manufacturer of a very special transport vehicle for Troll, the Norwegian Antarctica Station, which has the aim of reducing overall operational costs through lower fuel consumption, reduced total time of transport and by minimising the number of people dedicated to transporting fuel and goods in the Antarctic region.

The PRINOTH brand name is associated with high quality solutions for off-road applications. With this particular project, we are mostly excited to demonstrate our capacity to develop complex vehicle solutions that are ambitious, highly specialized and in some cases ground-breaking, yet keeping safety as our paramount priority. Operating in the Antarctica region requires extreme levels of safety precautions and this project certainly proved to everyone that PRINOTH is ready to take on the challenges provided by some of Earths’ harshest environments.

This custom-made vehicle will complement our Antarctica offer to provide a safe, efficient and reliable product. In addition to this new concept vehicle, it is important to mention the PRINOTH EVEREST snowgroomer, a legacy vehicle that has been tried and tested over the past decades by numerous institutes and companies in Antarctica.
